‘My One’ is a scorching piece of electronic music from EVA that takes influence from a variety of different genres. The track shuffles into life quickly, with her edited vocal sitting above that fast, garage-esque drum beat. She effortlessly hits us with hook after hook for the remainder of the track, with a gentle neo-soul influence balancing out that playful pop vocal reminiscent of Lily Allen.The artist herself explains that ‘My One’ “incorporates the Jersey Club sound. The track uses the 160 BPM tempo used in Liquid, and the prominent kick sequence that characterises the Jersey Club sound - yet ‘My One’ holds its own sonic idiosyncrasies.” Keep an eye out for more from EVA this year. -Dan Peeke
